Current and upcoming opportunities to study, work or volunteer abroad supported by the British Council for UK-based students and graduates

The Turing Scheme for UK students

The Turing Scheme provides funding to organizations in the United Kingdom to enable their students, learners, and pupils to participate in life-changing events located all over the globe.

For the benefit of their students, learners, and pupils, educational institutions such as schools, colleges, and universities submit financing requests for projects.
It is possible that you might take part in this event if you are affiliated with one of these organizations.
It makes no difference whether you are a student attending school either full or part time.
You will have the opportunity to build new skills, get valuable experience on a global scale, and enhance your employability if you take part in a placement via the Turing Program.
You also have the opportunity to enhance your professional practice, as well as a broad variety of soft skills and linguistic abilities. You will develop ties with peers from various countries, which will allow you to obtain new ideas and a deeper knowledge of the cultures of other countries.

Your college or university will be able to provide you with information about how they are utilizing the Turing Scheme to give you opportunities to study and work abroad, including which countries you can visit and how you can get involved in the program. This information can be obtained by contacting your college or university.

The Turing Scheme is managed by Capita plc. Visit the Turing Scheme  site for more information.

IAESTE placements for students in the United Kingdom

Unfortunately, the British Council will no longer be responsible for managing the implementation of IAESTE assignments in the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom is transitioning from an IAESTE member country to a non-member country. The good news is that students in the United Kingdom who are interested in participating in an IAESTE internship will still be able to do so, but they will receive administrative support for their participation from the IAESTE Global Network rather than a local network.

To participate, please visit the website and select the register button in the top right hand corner.

To register, you will need to input the country you study in – for this please type “Non Member Country” in the drop down list, rather than anywhere in the UK. After that, the IAESTE global team will follow up with you.
