The Faculty for the Future program, launched in 2004, awards fellowships to women from developing and emerging economies to pursue PhD or Post-doctorate research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines at leading universities worldwide.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:
Grants from Faculty for the Future may be extended up to the end of studies and are based on actual expenditures for approved expenses, up to a maximum of USD 50,000 for a PhD and USD 40,000 for a Post-doc. Grants for renewal are contingent on performance, supervisor recommendations, and convincing proof of reintegration plans in the home country.

Eligibility:
When submitting their grant request, candidates must have applied to, been accepted to, or been enrolled in an international institution. Candidates must have a strong academic record, exhibit leadership qualities, engage in community engagement initiatives, and have a history of promoting women and girls entering STEM areas. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate their intention to complete their education in their home countries and return there to advance the economic, social, and technological development of their home nations by enhancing the STEM teaching and research faculties at their home institutions and by taking the lead in science-based entrepreneurship.
They are also expected to contribute to the public sector, where their newly acquired technical and scientific knowledge may assist give fact-based justification for decisions about female representation in STEM.
