Terrorists allegedly murdered no less than 20 persons in three different assaults on villages in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
A local source, according to Saharareporters, said that on Thursday afternoon, gunmen on more than 30 motorcycles invaded the neighbourhoods and opened fire randomly.
Additionally, they were said to be murdering individuals while going from home to house.
“20 persons lost their lives while numerous homes were demolished during the incident,” a resident told SaharaReporters.
25 ladies were also kidnapped by the gunman, he said.
While some of the dead have already been put to rest, the source said that other locals have left the towns.
Kaduna has seen a wave of violent assaults in recent months that have resulted in deaths and abductions of locals. On March 28, gunmen ambushed a train headed towards Kaduna, killing eight people in the process. Additionally, several others were abducted.
While some of the kidnapped individuals have reclaimed their freedom, terrorists continue to hold other hostages.
In a shooting at a military post in the state’s Birnin Gwari Local Government Area a few days after the train assault, 11 soldiers lost their lives.
